The Young Office Brokers Association (YOBA) of Chicago is an organization created for real estate professionals with less than 5 years brokerage experience active in the commercial real estate industry, both in tenant representation and in landlord representation in the downtown Chicago and suburban markets. The mission of YOBA is to provide a pro-bono platform for young Chicago office brokers to network, share market knowledge and develop relationships with counterparts in the commercial real estate industry. Furthermore, YOBA aims to provide an educational format in a casual and social environment. YOBA was founded in 2002 by Phil Sheridan of Hamilton Partners and Jeb Scherb of Ameritus. Today, YOBA is led by Jonathon Cordell of Tishman Speyer and Ashley Devick of Newmark Knight Frank. If you are just entering the Commercial Real Estate industry, YOBA is the perfect place for you to meet other brokers, ask questions in a non-intimidating environment and learn about the industry.
