The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland Foundation's Associate Board is a group of young professionals, traditionally between the ages of 25 and 45, who seek leadership, volunteer, social, and philanthropic opportunities. In the course of a year, Associate Board members participate in over 20 volunteer activities, host the quarterly Theology on Tap pub series, plan the Crooked Halo Benefit, attend their own "Leadership Institute," and distribute grant money to organizations in need throughout the Diocese of Cleveland. The Board is designed to develop and foster the members' leadership skills and abilities. Members of the Associate Board go on to serve on leadership and advisory boards and councils throughout the Diocese of Cleveland. Members' primary motivation for joining the Board is to become more involved in the work of the Church and to give something back to the community. Many members have established professional careers and recognize this group as a way to gain momentum in the arena of community service and leadership.
