In Sarah Robbins’ presentation at the YP Summit today, she shared tools, ideas, and strategies to use technology to reach and grow your network. Here are a couple highlights:
- Sarah’s betting on Facebook over MySpace as the best free social network to reach young professionals.
- Starbucks uses Twitter to send sales codes, e.g. tell the cashier the coupon code you received, and get a discount. Zappos does the same thing.
- Netvibes.com and Google allow you to pull all your online, dispersed web presences - and their tags - onto one, single web page. Don’t pay anyone to build your site! This single page becomes an aggregation of all the web-based information you’re interested in.
Sarah says, “Google is like our tech overlords, and I embrace them.”
