The Right to Vote

(Milwaukee, WI)  Well, the Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce DID it!  They added not one - but TWO - young professionals to their executive committee… WITH FULL VOTING POWER.  I want to give them a special shout-out in my blog today because it’s clear that the Chamber in Birmingham is making a place at the table for the next generation.  They’re following a simple business principle: if you want to REACH a market, you have to ENGAGE that market.  In Birmingham, the Chamber is intent on being a part of the talent attraction and retention solution.  Engaging the next generation is a critical first step in doing so.

PLEASE NOTE that the Chamber could have made these seats non-voting positions.  But they didn’t; they went all the way.  Congratulations, Birmingham, for engaging the next generation in this formal way!

Yes, the Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce is a client of Next Generation Consulting.
