This morning I received this email from the ever-cool Linda Schreiber (Iowa City, IA). You’ll remember that Iowa was the first state in the nation to give Barack the nod, during the Democratic primaries. Iowans are good people, who give all comers a fair hearing. Linda wrote:
Congrats to Gen-Xers everywhere . . . only in America could a candidate named Barack Obama become the presumptive presidential nominee (for the Democratic party). Congrats too to Hillary Clinton who campaigned hard and shares another milestone of being the first woman presidential candidate. This is due to young people across the nation. And in part it is due to your leadership to encourage young people to step up.
Thank you for your continued efforts to change our world.
Best and kind regards - Linda
P.S. I expect to see something on your Web site soon about Gen Xers’ political efforts.
What do you think? Is Barack “our generation’s candidate?”
