Fresno’s Lift

[Fresno, CA]  The Crest Theater in Fresno reopened last night.  Most people had NEVER been inside it, because the Crest has been closed for a loooooong time.  But there it was, cradling 300 of us in it soft blue and purple art deco lights.  A gritty little jewel being rediscovered by hard working, visionary people who really, really care about their city.    Sometimes, you can sense the “lift” in a community, the moment when all the individual good works reach a tipping point and become a Movement, with a life all its own.  The lift is happening in Fresno.
