Fresno Conservatory of Music

Many folks have coined pithy quotes to express the power of ONE person to make a difference.  I met someone in Fresno who exemplifies it.  His name is Mark.  Upon learning that his kids were having their school’s music department eliminated, he decided that Fresno needed a Conservatory of Music.  So he single-handedly applied for 501c(3) status (he’s not an attorney, but he persisted through the legal mumbo-jumbo and got it done) and - after several letters back and forth between Mark and the government - Mark is now the head of the one-man Fresno Conservatory of Music.  He’s working out deals with music suppliers to support Fresno’s programs, and planning tours to visit other, slightly more famous Conservatories, like the one in Boston.

Rock on, Mark.  What are you doing to be the change you want to see in the world?
