Until recently, the most critical human resource issue facing our workplaces was Baby Boomer retirement. “How,” we wondered, “will we ever replace all those Boomers?”

Today, circumstances have shifted. Boomers are pushing back retirement by an average of four years, creating a whole new set of generational dynamics in the workplace.

In this two-part session, Rebecca Ryan will lead participants in a series of discussions, activities, and lectures, in which they’ll learn:

The characteristics of their own generation, plus its similarities or differences with other generations at work

An historical perspective of generations in society; “Was the economic collapse predicted, based on the generations alive today?”

The pain points when generations collide

The legacy that each generation will (likely) leave on the American workplace

How teams are using intergenerational collaboration to create more powerful and energized teams

How “next gen” friendly their workplace is

The Top 5 Do’s and Don’ts for working in an intergenerational team

The four words that set the tone for unity (or disunity) among generations at work

In today’s world, things have become more competitive than ever. As you progress through your college career, you are undoubtedly looking forward to what lies beyond graduation. Like your peers, you are driven and dedicated to achieving all the goals you’ve set for yourself. As you strive for the next step, how will you show off your talents? How will you show you are the all-star amongst your peers? How will you stand out from the crowd to prove that you are…different?

Now in its third year, the AM Leadership Conference was created to help you discover, develop and show off the talents you possess that will get you to the top. Unlike any other leadership conference out there, the AMLC is dedicated to providing you the tools to develop your strengths in a way that will help you reach that next step in your career.

Experts agree that
“Quality of Life” is critical to your city’s ability to retain and
attract mobile, knowledge workers. As we enter a new era in which
cities have fewer resources, civic and economic development leaders
must remember what, or rather “who” cities are for, and make smart,
contemporary choices to endear them to generations to come.

In
this dynamic presentation, audiences will learn about Next Generation
Consulting’s extensive research on “Next Cities” - places that have the
attributes to become knowledge-based talent magnets - and will help
cities gather momentum for “The New Normal.” This presentation
addresses three key questions that will determine the future of our
cities:

Why does the next generation of talent matter?

What is the next generation of talent looking for in a city?

How can your community design a clear, authentic strategy to attract and retain talent?

Through Their Eyes: How Next Gen Leaders See the Firm of the Future

Are your high potentials going to stick around when the economy recovers, or are they already daydreaming about better opportunities at other firms? Is your firm managing its talent properly to both sustain itself through the recession and position it for growth as new accounting regulations create market opportunities?

In this presentation, Rebecca Ryan will share:

What really attract high potentials to your firm. (It’s not money.)

The gap between what partners THINK their high potentials want, and what
	top talent really value.

How “high potential” programs often fail, and how to re-engineer them
	more effectively.

A three-step process to keep your top talent engaged, as the job market
	reheats.

Ms. Ryan will also discuss where new “wars for talent” may emerge, as regulations increase the need for CPA firm’s services.

About the presenter: Rebecca Ryan is regarded as the “go-to consultant” for firms that want to keep top talent and grow their bottom lines. She was named “Communicator of the Year” by Women in Communication, and “One to Watch” by Inside Public Accounting. Ms. Ryan’s clients include Smith+Howard, Carr, Riggs & Ingram, Reznick Group and some of the profession’s most progressive firms.
