Noon-7pm: Summit Registration & Check-in at The Westin Cincinnati

1:30-5:00pm: Pre-Summit BONUS Sessions at The Westin Cincinnati:

• "Strengths" Training, No Lifting Required! The word "strengths" is used in almost every job interview. But how many managers actually know their employees' strengths? Do you even know what your true strengths are? Join Peg Hartmann of NGC, as she takes you down the StrengthsFinder path and uncovers the hidden talents and strengths among us. In this session you will learn: the framework for the StrengthsFinder assessment, the Top Thirty-four Themes or Talents, and what you can expect from the results; examples of how your talents are combined to form strengths; and how you can leverage your results to give your YPO, career, and personal life a big boost.
• Finding and Leveraging your Volunteer "Sweet Spot" - Do you struggle with finding the perfect volunteer outlet that meets both your passion and skills? Join Tricia Morris, Director of Volunteer Mobilization with OneCity in Cincinnati as she walks you through a simple tool to help you find your volunteer niche and shares insight into how to leverage that niche and the opportunities available. Particpants will walk away understanding their volunteer "sweet spot", concepts on new, unique and location flexible volunteer options available, and tools to help you find the perfect fit!
  
• Knock 'Em Dead: How to Craft and Deliver Winning Presentations - Whether you're pitching an important new sponsor or delivering the state of the community address, you want your presentations to sizzle; you don't want your audiences to snooze. For the first time ever, Rebecca Ryan - one of the Summit's top-rated speakers - will share her secrets so you can craft winning presentations that differentiate you from others, get your audience's attention, and get results.

6:00pm-8:00pm: Summit Welcome Reception, Welcome to Cincinnati! Fourth Street was once dubbed by Cincinnatians as “Fashionable Fourth Street,” and the McAlpin’s department store was one of its fashionable anchors.  You’ll begin your Cincinnati experience at The McAlpin.  The McAplin is a great way to experience one of the hallmarks of the city’s urban residential renaissance.  Enjoy meeting and mingling with Summit participants while getting acquainted with some of Cincinnati’s favorite cuisine and wine compliments of Gallo.  FREE to Summit registrants.

7:00pm-10:00pm: Bacchanalian Society’s Gathering on Fountain Square - Fountain Square is the heart of Cincinnati. Join hundreds of other young professionals and enjoy the flowing water of Cincinnati’s Lady Genius and the flowing wine at the Bacchanalian Society’s September gathering on Fountain Square. A night of wine, conversation, and charity under the stars in the heart of the city – a uniquely Cincinnati experience. $10 for Summit attendees, pay at door, proceeds benefiting Habitat for Humanity.

• YPO's in Transition: How to (Re)Position For Greater Relevance & Impact: Since we met in Cocoa Beach, Florida last September for the YP Summit, the world has shifted. President Obama has been elected. Wall Street has collapsed. Many of our YPOs have been asked to clarify their value to their communities. Whether your YPO is just getting started, growing like crazy, or idling in place, you can't miss this idea-packed session with Rebecca Ryan. Here you'll learn how your YPO can: (Re)Fuel your mission to become more relevant in your community; (Re)Ignite your members (and not-quite-members) around issues that matter to them; and (Re)Energize your supporters, to ensure that your YPO is on solid financial footing.

11:00am-Noon:  Opening Keynote w/ Jake Greene

• Personal Positioning for the Pop Culture Generation: Jake is the author of Whoa, My Boss Is Naked! A Career Book for People Who Would Never Be Caught Dead Reading a Career Book. Using his unique pop culture presentation style Jake will discuss how young professionals can better position themselves to land jobs and get ahead without feeling like Sell-Out Corporate Tools. Attendees will walk away with advice on: personal positioning for job interviews, working across the generation gap, maintaining a professional identity on site and online, and pop culture advice for young managers.

1:30pm-2:30pm: Best Practice Breakouts and Panel Discussions  (topics subject to change):

• Mobilizing Members: What can YP groups do to mobilize their members...to serve, to vote, to take a stand?
• Positioning your YPO in the Start-Up Years: Jump start your organizations developed with a discussion around your YPO's purpose, resources, and what you want your YPO to be when it ‘grows up.' (Start-Up/Novice Track)
• Re-positioning your YPO: a YPO case study in strategic planning and organizational development (Developed/Advanced Track)
• Employer Relationships: Building strong partnerships through talent attraction/retention initiatives that meet employer needs, from interns to new hires.
• Maximum Impact, Minimum Budget: How can YPOs continue to create impact when purse strings are tight and funds are lean?
• GREEN, the New Black! How YPOs can engage in and lead sustainability initiatives in their cities.

2:30pm-3:00pm: Break & Walk to Breakout Sessions

3:00-4:00pm: Best Practice Breakouts and Panel Discussions  (topics subject to change):

• Building an Inclusive Talent Strategy: Learn what it takes for YPO's to become the diverse talent cooperative that they can and should be.
• Connecting the Generations: Program ideas for intergenerational dialogue from Boomer to X to Y.
• Creating the Bridge Between YP's and Boards: How YPOs are helping engage and connect their members to community boards.
• Organizing Signature Events: Success stories on events that meet and exceed member needs plus the hooks that get them their and coming back!
• YPO Partnerships: Collaborating and avoiding duplication from the local level to the state level

6:00pm-8:00pm: Join other Summit attendees and area young professionals for a casual evening high above the Ohio River on the Purple People Bridge – a big, purple, pedestrian bridge over which you can walk between the Cincinnati and Kentucky side of Cincinnati USA!  This "dutch treat" evening includes dinner options from the grill, Cincinnati’s game – cornhole - and music from a great indie band all high atop the Ohio River overlooking Cincinnati’s spectacular skyline. Dinner costs will range from $8-$12 plus cash bar.

8:00pm-Midnight: After dinner take a stroll back downtown for a night on the town at a local hotspots to see why Cincinnati's urban center rocks OR join us for Paint and Party. A renouned mural artist, will be on hand to help the group create its own mural. Free for Summit registrants, cash bar is available - more details to come.

7:30am-9:00am: Breakfast

9:00am-10am: Morning Keynote w/ Sarah "Intellagirl" Robbins

• Using Social Media to Motivate and Engage: Sarah Robbins wowed the 2008 Summit attendees with her encyclopedic grasp of how to put Web 2.0 technologies to work to engage the next generation. She'll be back in 2009 with case studies on how to use technology effectively in your YPO, whether it's to turn out the vote, drive attendance at monthly events, or simply get more members to use your services

10:30am-11:45am: Open Dialogue "Issue" Discussions

• 3-5 discussions: in an effort to make sure YOU get the value from the Summit you're looking for, attendees will have the opportunity to SUGGEST and VOTE on additional issue topics they would like to address with other attendees during our time together. Suggestions and voting will happen on Friday and session topics will be announced Saturday morning.

Noon-1:30pm: Table Topic Lunch

• Saturdays lunch will offer additional networking and conversation opportunities giving attendees the chance to connect with other YPO leaders from their state or peer cities to discuss statewide issues and talent strategies.

1:30-2:30pm: Closing Keynote w/ Ron Carucci and Josh Epperson

• Our closing keynote will feature Ron Carucci and Josh Epperson authors of Future in-Formation: Choosing a Generative Organizational Life. Ron is also the author of Leadership Divided: What Emerging Leaders Need and What You Might Be Missing. Ron and Josh will which address ways organizations and communities can further leverage the human endeavor toward greater effectiveness and social engagement. 
  

3:00pm-4:00pm: What's Next?! Taking It Home!

• Its time to gather what you've learned, ask those questions still pending and think about your "next action playbook" so you are ready to hit the ground running when you return home. This general session will discuss the take-a-ways from Summit sessions and next actions YPO leaders can and should apply.

7:00 pm: Stay and celebrate! Cincinnati transforms into Zinzinnati USA as it hosts America's Oktoberfest, the nation's largest Oktoberfest celebration. Spanning six city blocks, more than half-a-million people converge to eat, sing, mingle, sport lederhosen, take in live German music on 5 stages and enjoy more than 40 food and drink vendors. Summit attendees are invited to the VIP Oktoberfest experience at the HYPE Haus Party! Attendees will enjoy beer sampling, beer tickets, light  German fare, a special cash bar, access to private restrooms and reserved seating under the biggest fest tent in Oktoberfest, the Party Zelt, located at the corner of 5th and Race streets. Admission to HYPE Haus is free to Summit registrants.
