A 60-second Q&A with NGC's Founder, Rebecca Ryan

Q: What's the last great book you read?

A: Crush It by Gary Vaynerchuk

Q: What's your favorite meal?

A: In the winter, Pho. It really restores me when I feel run-down.

Q: If you had an extra 5 hours every week, what would you do?

A: Watch TED videos. I love that resource!

Q: What's your favorite "Next City?"

A: Madison. I love living here. There's no traffic. I can bike to work year-round, because they plow the bike paths! And, we have a good food culture, e.g. organic farms and a lot of farm-to-fork restaurants. And because of the University of Wisconsin, a lot of smart people live here. It's very stimulating.

Q: If you could go anywhere for an entire month, where would it be?

A: Paris. I love the food and the fashion. I'm half French. And...I'm sort of shaped like the Eiffel Tower.

Q: What's one thing you want people to know about NGC?

A: My team Does. Not. Give. Up.

Q: What's the last thing you downloaded to your iPod or iPhone?

A: Scanner Pro. Joseph is pushing me to paperless, and the apps are so great, it's really possible.

Q: What one wish do you have for the next generation?

A: That they continue to ask "Why?" and "Why not?"

Q: What energizes you?

A: Big ideas and the big-brained people who have them.

Q: What's your favorite quote?

A:  "I always wondered why somebody doesn't do something about that. Then I realized I was somebody." - Lily Tomlin
